Calico Ghost Town

This past weekend we went camping with some of the members of Greg's family. We had a great time sitting around the campfire, enjoying the heat, and indulging in some delicious meals. It was SOO great to spend three days with Angel and Robert (whom live in Las Vegas and we dont' get to see very much!).
We can't wait for our next trip!!

Labor Day weekend

I know I have been laggin' in my bloggin'!! Lots of things going on here at home...redecoratin', complete cleanin', learnin', snugglin', and re-evaluatin' what and who is most important to me.  I am turning off the computer and spending my precious time with the two people who have proved to be ones who will accept me for who I am with all my faults included. I promise to start keepin' up with it more!

Over Labor day weekend, we got invited by some friends to join a big group campin' at Leo Carrillo State beach. It was a lot of fun..and there was a lot people to enjoin nature with...17 families to be exact.

We did some eatin'....

rollin' in dirt...

playin' with friends...
smilin' in the sun...
bulidin' in the sand...
 hangin' out on the beach...

enjoyin' the waves..
relaxin' under the sun...
smellin' the sea breeze...
feelin' the sun's warmth on our face...
huggin', smilin', and rollin' in the sand...
runnin' from the waves...
watchin' the flames...
eatin' smores....
and ridin' with friends...

and you know what 17 families equal....40+ friends to play with!!

We had a great time camping!!! Thank you Summit Mommies for including us!

9/11 repost

Re post from last year...I just love the pictures! 9/11 has a double sour feeling for us because as this was happening in the world...my family's world was shattering too. Mom sat us down on the evening of 9/11 to tell us she had cancer. So at the time...we truly didn't comprehend the disaster that was happening in NYC because we were experiencing the same magnitude back at home. We truly will never forget this day for many reasons.

Since today was the 8th  9th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, I thought it would be appropriate to have my flashback Friday honor those valiant men and women who got up on that ordinary day 8 years ago never knowing that it would be the last time they called a loved one, last time they rode the subway, last time they kissed a loved one good-bye, last time they dropped off a beautiful child at school, last time they stopped by Starbucks, the last time they would clock in at their job. With all these lasts came their first day in true paradise.

When we did the Avon Walk in New York City in October of 2006, we had the opportunity to visit Ground Zero. Nothing can describe or explain the feelings, emotions, and sights you see. Pictures don't do it justice. I can't wait to go back and visit some day so that I could see the memorial that is currently being built..I believe.
