L.A Fair

Yesterday Michelle, Alison, and I got a few hours to check out the LA County Fair. I always love to go and see the crazy things people are selling, and of course you can't forget the food!!Um..so yummy. Anyways, we only had about 2 hours so we made the most of our time. Alison loved all the animals from far away...up close that was different story. She didn't like them touching her at all! It was so fun. We had a blast! Thanks Michelle for going with me! Here are some pictures of Alison and the animals....

Who needs Terminex?

So Friday was Terminex's 4th trip out in less than four weeks. Just as I was thinking it may not be necessary for them to come out, we came home on Thursday night to a trash can in the garage COVERED in ants! H@%% NO!! So Friday morning the terminex guy came out and puffed powder posion in the walls that we had narrowed down to their extistence. We also found a huge colony near the rosebush by the garage door. They had eggs and all!! He said this should do it...we have sort of cornered them. Ok..I so I am fully expecting NO MORE ANTS! Friday night..Nothing..yahoo...Saturday morning....CRAP...They are back and in the pantry for the 3rd time!! NO!! Kill them all and leave..Come home Saturday night....WHAT THE HECK??? The washer and dryer were ABSOLUTELY COVERED IN BLACK ARGENTINA ANTS! So I put my thinking cap on ( I know I don't do it often!) and tried to figure something out on my own..As Poor Bear would say..Think..Think..Think..AH HA!! I had some ant traps that Auntie Laurie had given me a while back. They were in some other cupboards that had previously had ants but I thought lets try it here. So I call Auntie Laurie and she tells me just put the trap there and leave them alone..Don't kill them. WHAT?? They are going to continue to multiply by a trillion and in the morning I will have to call in the demolition team! Hestitately we followed her instructions and went to bed with a trap outside of their exit point and a million swarming on top of the dryer. First thing Sunday morning, Greg flies downstairs to check out the mess. He came running up the stairs (I think he skipped 5 out of the 10 stairs on his way up) to joyfully tell me that there was NOT A SINGLE ANT ANYWHERE IN THE GARAGE! GOOD LORD!!! Who needs Terminex when you have a MIRACLE EXTERMINATOR WORKER at the end of your telephone..AKA..AUNTIE LAURIE. So far not a single ant in the house! yippee!! Let's hope it continues. We did find another colony under the other rose bush last night so I am going to arrange for Terminex to be there when we pull them out so he can kill that colony as well. Looks like my rose bushes have seen their last week on Redhead Way. Greg couldn't be more excited as he ABSOLUTELY HATES THEM! I on the other hand am sad..so you know what this means..SINCE I CAN'T HAVE MY ROSES IN MY GARDEN.UT UM..I THINK HE NEEDS TO BRING ME SOME HOME ON A REGULAR BASIS! Great idea..just need to convince him of that! hah!! Pray for no more ants and Call 1-800- AUNTIE-LAURIE for all your exterminating needs!!

Alison starting walking on Thursday!! I am in big trouble now. All of sudden she took off and has been very proud of herself as you can see in the video.

CAN YOU SAY IRR-I-TATED!!

Ugh....I am still dealing with ANTS (Terminex has been out 3 times and I have an appointment on Friday morning!!)....and to make that worse...MY INTERNET HASN'T BEEN WORKING EITHER!! What the heck??? I am getting an new airport card so hopefully that will solve this problem and if Terminex doesn't solve my ant problem I might have to take matters into my own hands....TEAR THE HOUSE DOWN AND START ALL OVER. Ok..I am kidding, I won't do that but seriously!! I will try to post some new pictures of Alison asap!! ANT KILLING IS CALLING AS I AM WATCHING THOSE BASTARDS CRAWL UP MY WALL AS I TYPE!!

More beavers!!

ALISON FINALLY GOT TWO MORE TEETH! Here is how a typical conversation might go:

How many teeth does she have?
Me:Only two
Oh my! She can eat all that food like that with just two teeth!
Me: Yep, She utilizes her two beavers very well!!

Now let me tell you...Alison eats steak, bites fruit, eats a sandwich, chicken...you name it. And mind you when she is eating she "prefers" to bite from the entire piece and entertains herself by throwing the small neatly cut up pieces that I have put on her tray onto the floor! Great!!

SHE'S BACK!

NALA HAS BEEN FOUND!! A very nice family rescued her yesterday after nearly being hit by a car down a few miles from us on Baseline and Beech. They were able to wrangle her up and take her home. She had a "slumber party" as they called it. She was in great company of another dog, and she even got to sleep under a blanket on the couch! ha..no wonder why she wanted to leave! All joking aside, Greg and I couldn't be happier for her safe return. The family was getting ready to put up lots of flyers when then saw ours. Lesson learned: They will always have their licenses and tags on..oh and I will be calling tomorrow for an appointment to get them microchipped. Hopefully, we will never have to experience this again. Thank you for all who called us and helped us look for her constantly today. Welcome Home Nala! Well I am off to bed as I am physically (3 a.m. bedtime time/ 6 am wake up) and emotionally exhausted....Good Night!

Nala

Last night and today have been really hard for Greg and I. When we got home last night we realized that somehow (which we don't know how) Nala got out and ran away. We have posted flyers everywhere! A dozen neighbors said that she was wandering around the neighborhood for quite a few hours but unfortunately she wouldn't go to any of them. I could have sworen that she had a collar with her tags on, but one neighbor only saw the collar. I am going go searching the shelter in hopes of finding her. Please pray that someone picked her up and will either call or take her to the shelter so we could find her. We are soo sad...

Finally!!

Ok..finally I got my act together and created a slide show of some of my favorite pictures from our trip. We went to Seattle a few days early so we could spend some time with Nina Lisa & Nino Bobby, as well as some of our most favorite neighbors (who are practically family) The Wildebors. Our cruise embarked on Sunday the 17th and we cruised up to Ketchikan, Juneau, and Skagway. Here are some of the highlights from our trip:
* No one got sea sick! yahoo!
* Michelle won two games of BINGO..$400..sweet!
* We saw some of the most beautiful scenery...including breathtaking glaciers
and icebergs
* Ate some Salmon (we all tried..it wasn't our favorite but at least we tried it!)
* Saw the fluke of some humback whales, bald eagles, salmon, and a BEAR! (yup..Jen, Michelle, Nick & Bill go to see a brown bear while at the dog sledding camp)
* Rode a 16 dog line dog sled (wow what a neat experience)
* Ate...and ate...and ATE until we couldn't eat anymore!!
* Jen, Michelle, and I were all super spoiled by DADDY!!...He bought us all a piece of diamond jewlery. I got diamond stud earrings, Michelle got another diamond ring, and Jen got a diamond studded pendent! THANKS DAD!
* Overall..we had a fabulous time!!!

P.S. I apologize to everyone who received a million slide show updates. I didn't know that you got an automatic update! I promise that won't happen again! UGH...I will never make another slide show using this site...it is horrible! I have no idea why the captions are correct and some are misspelled, but I am over this site so this is what you get!! Sorry....
