Not Me Monday...I Mean Tuesday

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.

Ugh!!..NO I definitely did NOT hold on to last Monday's Not Me things so that I would NOT be embarassed because I was NOT at Disneyland AGAIN and forget to do my post. And of course I did NOT fall asleep on the couch last night at 8:30 when I had planned to do my NOT me post on the RIGHT day. NO...Today is NOT the wrong day AGAIN..and NO why would I do that three weeks in a row! Geez..I am so glad I do NOT do those kind of things or else this would be embarassing...

Last week...seriously..When my aunt yelled at me to call the police because some strange woman was sitting in her car, I SO DID NOT respond with... HOW DO I DO THAT??. Come on seriously...of course I know how to contact the police even in an emgerency!! NOPE I DIDN'T DO THAT!

No..I was NOT the only one who did NOT win a single darn thing at bingo last week at the Indian Reservation. Between my Nino, Nina, and myself..I certainly did NOT walk away the only loser!

This week..I would NEVER tell my daughter "What are you thinking?" because she was trying to push the emergency buttons in an elevator. And of course she DID NOT tell me in very clear words.."Ummm...I am thinking." NO I would NOT say something like that to her!

NO I DID NOT cry myself to sleep on Thursday night because it was Alison's first night away from the both of us. NO I would NEVER DO such a thing..that would be flat out silly! And when my husband said.."I'll go get her (mind you it was three o'clock in the morning)"...NO I DID NOT stop and ponder the possiblity for a minute!! Besides..I was NOT crying so why would I do that!

No..I did NOT frantically try to post Michelle's maternity pictures on the blog before the baby was born. And of course..I was NOT ticked when I didn't get a good internet connection at the hospital so I couldn't up load them. NO I would NOT wait until she was in labor to share the pictures..and still couldn't get them up!! NO Not ME!

No..I did NOT practically give my very cute niece a bath with a wipie yesterday after some germ infested lady put her grimy fingers all over her face! No I did not to that in front of everyone so that I DID NOT send the message to everyone else in the waiting room to keep your hands off!! NO..I would NOT do that!!

No..I did NOT fall asleep last night and forget to wish Aunty Dana a Happy Birthday in cyber space! No this is not a day late....

Happy 30th Birthday to one of the World's BEST Aunties!!!

Ah Tita (aka Auntie Dana)...Thank you for being a great aunty to me! My face lights up when I see you, and I get super excited when mommy turns the car down your street. I love how you sing to me and hooo hold ju . You constantly spoil me with love and kisses (and sweet treats too but shh don't tell mommy!) Thank you for being such a wonderful example in my life..I hope you had a wonderful birthday!!
Love,
Ahh-Luu

Happy Father's Day & a Birthday Party

We had a great day celebrating all the wonderful dads in our lives. I was a bit under the weather because my sinsuses were out of control. Here are a few pictures that I captured..( I got a few more on my Canon but I didn't have time to upload them)

We had a BBQ and Jen & Bill's house with the fam. We ate a yummy dinner with ribs, chicken, corn, potatoes, and pasta salad. Auntie Laurie brought a little cake because today would have been my mom's 59th birthday. Although our party doesn't come close to majestic celebration that probably happens in heaven, we did have a great time taking a moment to remember such a wonderful person. We miss her so much, but know and feel her presence with us each and everyday. A certain little girl, I wonder if you can guess who, loved the celebration as she got to indulge in the cake eating. Thanks Auntie for the cake and the celebration!

Happy Birthday Sweet Mommy! We love and miss you!

Happy Father's Day to all the wonderful fathers!!

Friday Favorites

I know..don't be too amazed..three posts in one day!!

But since I use my blog as a documentation of my life as a wife and mother (and honestly you all know what her baby book looks like...empty), I thought I would share with you some of my favorite phrases that Alison is saying these days. All of a sudden she has become a chatter box...hummm...wonder who gave her that gene?! No..not me!! hehe...Actually more like her Grammy Cindy!!

Here I go....
"ho-hold duju" aka hold me or I want to hold whatever it is. And of course because she loves to sign everything has a sign. This one, she puts her elbows together and hands up and out. (my favorite)

"prep-pel" aka pretzel. She pounds her fists together..mind you not the sign for cracker or pretzel

"Mee-na" aka her blankie. She points to her belly.

"pee-yah" aka her paci

"appa-ju" aka apple juice. She rocks her pointer finger and thumbs like a "j"

"dog-dog" aka a dog

"hop on down" aka get off the couch Gunnar

"Beh beh" aka burr..it's cold

"hot dog" aka Costco or Mickey Mouse Clubhouse

"ahh-men" aka Amen

"ahh-te-ta" aka Auntie Dana

"puush-you" aka she pushed someone

"edd-geez" aka eggs

These are a few of my favorite things!

Flashback Friday

Ok...here is the infamous baby picture that was purchased 20 months later.....

Happy Friday!

Gift in the Mail

Last Friday (I know..it took me a week to get my act together)...anywhoo...Alison and I (ok..really I was more excited than she was at first) because we got a package in the mail! I love to check the mail to see if anything fun and exciting came, and of course it's usually something boring and uninteresting (bills..and junk mail). Well this particular day..it something very exciting came! Nina Lisa (my aunt in Seattle..who by the way we are so excited to go visit in a two months) sent Alison two very cute books..Well...knowing my daughter do you think she liked them??? Of course...especially because she thinks she can read! Check her out...

Thanks Nina..That was a very sweet of you to think of Ali and send her a gift!

P.S. Nina was the one who gave Alison her all time favorite book Goodnight Seattle. Anyone who has interacted with her..has probably read it too!!!

Not Me...

No...I am NOT posting a "NOT ME MONDAY" POST ON THE WRONG DAY!

uummm...yeah I guess it looks like that! If I hadn't spent all day playing at Disneyland yesterday with my sister's special ed Seniors..I could have gotten it posted yesterday. (Stop rolling your eyes..I would have!)

Ok..so ready for this not me...

No..I didn't just purchase the hospital pictures of Alison when she was born last week! No...what kind of mother would do that!

No..I didn't bawl my eyes out when I got those pictures (that should have been ordered almost two years ago!)...especially when I asked Alison.. "who is this baby?" and she said..."be be..Aahh--Lu!" No...not a single tear!!

No..this mom didn't let her daughter watch Elmo two times through at 9 o'clock at night just so I could finish making 5 french toast casseroles...and each time she came crying for me to hold her..NO I didn't send her away because the casseroles were more important! No not me!!

Oh..what a week!! I promise next time this post will be on the right day!! And....look for a very adorable flashback Friday..This Friday!! :)

P.S...if you click on the image above you will be linked to McMamma's blog. She originated Not Me Mondays. Great blog to follow!!

Welcome to the world...

2 weeks ago our good friends Steve and Mandy welcomed a beautiful baby boy into their family. Zachary Steven Deardorff was born on May 21, 2009 @ 12 something in the morning. He weighed 9 lbs 2 ozs and was 21 inches long..(humm..I hope those stats are right!) He is true miracle direct from God, and we love him so much! Mom and Dad are doing well as they are getting adjusted to their new life. Kimber, my photography partner, and I were priviledge to take his newborn pictures at one week old. I think they are adorable...What do you think??? ( I bet you will wanta kiss those cheeks too!)

Ahem...How could I have forgotten??

I can't believe it's almost been a week..and I haven't announced "Our family's" latest news!! AND NO..I AM NOT PREGNANT! Still wishin' on that one though! After lots of praying, thinking, evaluating, and soul searching, Greg decided that it was time to put his coaching clipboard away. Yes...he resigned his position as Head Basketball Coach. Ali and I are so excited because this means daddy will be home more, but I do recognize what a difficult decision this was to make for him. He did this for no other reason than wanting to be home with us. Sure..they wanted more time and less pay so that helped finalize his decision. He knows that eventually he will coach again, but just not at this time in our family's life. This will be our first summer ever...where I am not working at the pool and all he has to do is teaching summer school! We are looking forward to a great summer!! Thanks babe for being a great dad, husband, and provider!

Listening

I believe that there are many incidents in our lives where God tries to communicate very clearly to us on what he desires in his heart for us. Unfortunately for whatever reason, we, as sinners, either fail to listen or just refer to these incidents as life's "coincidences." I perfer (when I recognize them) to call them a direct message from Christ. It saddens me that I don't recognize these more often however, when I do..I become in awe that my Savior has taken this specific, planned, and ever so important moment to mold my heart like his.

Well last night I had one of these "direct messages." I went with my sister, Michelle, shopping last night for some last minute baby items and hospital bag goodies. Our first stop was Kohl's (by the way one of my favorite stores...which is deadily to my Kohl's credit card!). Any whoo...we had a blast shopping, and I ended up getting two frames for a bridal shower gift and another shelf because the one in my kichten came crashing down the other day. Well my bill was $16.93, but wait..I have $10.00 Kohl's Cash from my shopping spree the week before..even better only $6.93!! Greg has been working on our budget so we have been buying most of our stuff with cash. So I go to pull out my cash and dang it..I only had 6 bucks!! I didn't have enough change..so I just atmed it. Now..remember I could have just used the atm card to begin with or put it on my Kohl's charge and not have even paid attention to the cash..but no I didn't. So off we go...on to Target!! $9.56 at Target..the atm got another visit (remember I know I only have 6 bucks cash) and off we head home. As we are pulling out of the shopping center, there is this Dodge Ram, obviously broken down, with a cone behind it and a male driver standing next to it. Mind you..it's 10 o' clock at night and only the three of us girls. As we pass the truck, the man sort made a gesture at our car. So dummy me says..."wait...let's see what he wants" ( I know...I know..not smartest move!). As I roll my window down.. he says to us..."I have a tow truck coming..but I am 6 dollars short...Do you have any spare change?" Now realizing this is wasn't a smart move...we both say "no sorry" and begin to roll up the window as panic is starting to set in. The man says very kindly.."it's ok..thanks anyway". And we begin to pull forward to wait at the light..and then suddenly God said to me.."Stephanie...I have put exactly the amount of what he asked for in your wallet." I felt his presencesly so intensely, and he is words so clearly..instantly with out hesitation (mind you the light is turning green) I told Michelle..turn around. She was like WHAT?? So we flipped two u turns..and we pull up to him again...I rolled my window down and said "My Provider reminded me that I have just the exact amount you need..May God Bless you tonight." The look on the man's face was priceless, and he kept saying "oh thank you". As we pulled away..I got the urge to look back..and guess what I saw...he kissed the money and pointed to the heavens. My eyes filled with tears. My God talked to me...I listened and was obedient...He blesses me each and every day...I blessed someone else...but most importantly...I WAS HUMBLED!

Thank you Lord..For taking the time to invest effort, love, and guidance in this sinner.
My life has purpose and direction because of your ever constant love.
You have provided us with far more than I could ever need or want. Help me to take the opportunity to do the same in return for other's.
Thank, Lord, for everything you are and the love you present.
Be with me each and everyday, as I work toward becoming a more evident Christ follower.

Amen

Good Bye...

Dearly Beloved,
We are gathered here today to pay our final respect to an "oh so comforting, all loving, never failing" PEE- YAH. (Pee-yah for those who aren't familar with Alison's unique names for things is her pacifier.) I will forever be grateful for the soothing comfort you have brought me.

All my love,
Ah Lu aka Ali Lu

Well it has been just under a week since Alison last had her pee-ah! She was so attached to it that I was so fearful of the nightmare that we were both going to experience when it was time. Mandy, a friend of mine, told me that when her boys were 12 months she made them leave the paci in their bed when they got up, and then one day she just took them away. She said that they never asked for them once they disappeared from their bed. So last Wednesday, I decided to try and see what happens. I figured at best we would be rid of pee-ah and at worst it would be limited to her bed. Well after nap on Wednesday, I told her pee-yah had to stay in bed. She put them right on her pillow, grabbed her mee-nah (blankie), and we were off. Well she fell alseep on the way home that night without it so I quickly took them out of the bed when she didn't wake up and look for it. She hasn't had since. Sometimes she yodules for it, but when you ask her where it is she says "Buh bye..baby buh bye". What a big girl! I have to admit that I am sad that she gave it up because it is another thing on her big girl checklist!

Here's a trip down memory lane...

Good-bye Pee-yah!

P.S. And for those who are going to ask..NO I am not going to take her mee-nah (blankie) away from her!! Look at her mother! oops..I did just say that!

Happy Tuesday (6 days and counting without pee-yah)
