#6

We are soo excited because after years and years of hard dedication, Greg's 1st cousin Brett finally got an opportunity to prove himself in the BIG LEAGUE...THE MAJOR LEAGUE!
He plays for the San Fransico Giants! We got word that he was making his major league debut the day after Labor in San Diego. We after school,...we headed down to support him!!
She wanted a shirt that said "Go Brett" so this is what I was able to come up with in 20 minutes!! She's one of #6's littlest fan!

His first start as the 1st baseman...
These two were the best cheer leaders!
I was soo nervous for his first at bat that I thought I was going to lose my dinner!!
..he had a zero batting average....but not for long..
because yes..he is running the bases because he hit a two run homerun at his first at bat!!!
We were going crazy!! It was such an memorable and awesome experience!! We watched him make the record books. Only 113 (or something like that) have ever hit a home run at their very first at bat in the majors,
and he is the 5th giant ever in franchise history!!
...batting a 1.000!
Got keep your baby nice and snuggled at the game!
What an awesome game!

We can't wait to continue to cheer him on in his career!
Go Brett!!!

Riley's Farm

My sister in law Dana arranged for an outing at Riley's farm to go apple picking at the beginning of the month.
Boy were we excited!! The last time Greg and I had been to Riley's farm was about 10 years ago.
She was so excited to be with cousins and friends!
We got a hay ride up to the groves.
picking raspberries
more raspberry picking with daddy...
We found some big ones!
Daddy held while Alison pulled.
Grandma Kathy picking her raspberries.

Due to the apples being too small still, We were unable to pick apples so we resorted to the next best thing...Pears!!

having so much fun!

She found a pumpkin growing and was soo excited for the upcoming fall season!

There were wild flower fields that were beautiful. We picked three flowers.

cousins

the flowers were beautiful..and the bees were busy working.

Big Cousin Kelsea was soo helpful for Ali.
Her picks..
comparing their picks...
Raspberries and blackberries, but there was still room for some strawberries!
Fresh strawberries..yum!
so proud of herself!

We had a great time!!
Thank you Auntie Dana for setting up such a fun outing!!

Good mommies...

always make sure their babies are tucked in nicely at bed time!!

Homeschool Preschool

I can't believe this girl is big enough to be holding this sign!

This is Alison, and she is a preschooler!
I can't believe that the Lord has put it on my heart to home school her either!
We are very excited about this new venture!

Come on in..and take a look at our classroom...
we have the alphabet along the top, a book shelf, an an easel, and newly laid hardwood floors...

a calendar up on the wall and a bulletin board...

this color display was kindly given to me by an awesome recently retired 1st grade teacher that I have known since I was in first grade...
...we have a new piano that was graciously given to us, boy does Alison love it!
Our wall calendar...
Wednesday September 7th was our first "official" day
(we hadn't done the calendar yet before these pictures were taken)
The 10 commandments are on our door...
Doing the calendar...
I have a curriculum that I am incorporating, but I am also using a bunch of different resources as well.
I know you many of you probably have questions like...
Do you really think teaching her is doing her justice??
Don't you know that homeschooling can shape socially inept kids??
Aren't you too busy to actually do school??

To be honest, I never thought that I would be a home school teacher, nor deal with daily infertility for that matter. Has my infertility dictated my choices? Absolutely not! But has it influenced it..I would probably be lying if I said no, but it has truly helped my perception. A perception that sees she is only going to be little for such a short time, so why am I in a hurry to send her away for a majority of the day during the some of the most influential time in her life? I'm not!
Am I qualified to do this?? Yes!! Not just because I am a credentialed teacher, but because I am her mommy and know her best! It's going to be a challenge for me in my time management area, but Greg is a 100% on board with this and has been helping me get the house in order so I can focus on schooling not chores! What a blessing! I have done some assessments on her already so I am well aware of her strengthens and weaknesses. I have lots of social opportunities set up for Alison as I know that is an area she struggles with at time. She can carry a conversation with an adult but her peers are a different story. MOPS has helped her in the social aspect tremendously.

Will I continue on to kindergarten?? Only the Lord knows!! So in the mean time..
we are going to have FUN AT SCHOOL!!
